Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Carlos E. Lopez is the Senior Army Instructor (SAI).  He retired from active duty in 2017 after serving 25 years.  He is a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).  His last assignment was as a faculty member in the Joint Forces Staff College, National Defense University in Norfolk, Virginia. He is married to Ivonne and they have 6 children.
