Cambridge 6th grade courses provide an excellent transitionary year for students to adapt to the middle school environment and the rigors of Cambridge academics. Cambridge 7th grade courses provide an increase in in-depth study and scaffolding occurs substantially at this level in all core classes in preparation of 8th Grade courses that are taught at a high school level. Cambridge 8th grade classes are equivalent to first year high school courses and provide students with high school curriculum that is challenging and academically intensive.
Students who pass their 8th grade classes and examinations will be awarded high school credit.
Cambridge instructors are highly qualified individuals within their teaching field and are certified by the Florida Board of Education. Each course contains a course syllabus with Cambridge standards that have been designed by Cambridge professors.
The Cambridge program of study at North Marion Middle School offers a rigorous multi-level curriculum that prepares students for the demands of higher level learning and high school coursework.
Students at North Marion Middle School also have access to multiple electives and after school programs that enrich the creative and academic curriculum of the Cambridge program. Electives include: Art, Band, Technology, Business Education, Health Occupations, and Agriculture. Other programs offered include Academic Team, MATHCOUNTS, Civil Air Patrol, Young Ladies Council, Track and Field, Volleyball, and Basketball.
