S.T.E.M. Media Kit

The S.T.E.M. Media Kit will connect students to the world around them by helping observe, collect, create, and share their own videos that can be preserved for years to come.  This kit will help put technology in the students’ hands and increase their interest video productions while simultaneously providing language acquisition, vocabulary expansion, and self-esteem.  In order to create these videos students will also have to learn how to operate basic camcorder skills, basic editing skills, and storyboarding. The S.T.E.M. media kit will empower students on a multitude of levels. For example (but not limited to): 1) older students will serve as a role model and will sign stories to share with younger children 2) students can sign a video to their parents and have the interpreter voice for them so they can share news/events and simultaneously parents can learn new signs 3) students can create a story board to bring home to better communicate at home, understand chronological order, and increase vocabulary comprehension.

Please note that at this time the S.T.E.M. kit is only available to staff and contract employees working for the Marion County Schools serving Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, or Language-Impaired Students.  Students and parents are not able to check these items out at this time.
