7th grade Language Arts
We will explore our world through various forms of literature, including novels, non-fiction articles, essays, short stories, poetry, and informative passages. By reading this variety of texts, students can analyze what they read and learn techniques to apply critical thought to an author's point of view, allowing them to expound upon their main ideas.
Additionally, we will complete numerous writing assignments of our own. These will include essays, summaries, short responses, narratives, poems, and journal entries. We will practice both independent and guided reading lessons which will strengthen our comprehension and critical thinking skills. Learning is best done collaboratively, so group work will be routine in the classroom. This will allow us to further develop social skills and engage us to new perspectives.
Cambridge classes will be finishing the story "Flesh & Blood So Cheap" next week (Sep. 10-14) and will have their TEST on Thursday.
Regular classes will have a TEST on Tuesday for The Triangle Factory Fire story. They have their notes and we will review for the test on Monday
