• Leotard Tights Pants Shirt

*Convertible tights have a small hole on the bottom of the foot that can be pulled up over the ankle, converting them to footless tights (with the seam landing at the ankle). These items are needed for their performance, can be purchased by me, and all proceeds go to the dance dept.

    Dance in Kindergarten

    First/Second Semester

In Kindergarten we will be learning about Creative Movement/Modern/Kiddie Jazz all in a 50 min time period 3 days per week! At the end of the semester, they will do a dance on stage (in costume) which will serve as their assessment for what they’ve learned in my class. Mark your calendars because that date is; Friday, December 14th 7:00pm. This will also serve as their final grade for the semester.

Proper dress is a large part of your child’s grade. Please help them to remember their dance days. You can find them on the MSA website. Just go to the Faculty page, then Sheila Ruotolo, and you will find my weekly schedule and other important information. During the school day, your child will be required to wear the following attire:

    Girls:

    1. Leotard with tights, sweatpants, capris, jazz pants, appropriate shorts or a skirt
    2. Spaghetti strapped camisole shirt (no skin showing) and, sweatpants, capris, jazz pants, or long shorts (basketball style length) No Jeans (Stay away from Skorts, the shorts are too short by themselves)

I would recommend that girls do option number 2 so that going to the bathroom is easier for them.

    Boys:

Athletic style shorts/pants (with an elastic waist) or sweatpants plus any style shirt – No Jeans (this includes jean shorts with elastic waist)

Below you will find the rubric for proper Dance attire.
