• Dear students and parents,

Thank you for your interest in the Wolf Pack United Peer Mentoring Program. Wolf Pack United is a partnership between West Port High School and Partnership for Effective Programs for Students with Autism (PEPSA) designed to promote inclusion between the special needs and the general education population of the school. Our goal is to close the gap between these two groups of students and UNITE them on the foundations of common interests, empathy, and relationship building through intentional peer mentoring while enhancing social skills that will prepare the neurodiverse population for post secondary outcomes including: employment, community participation, and recreational activities. Our mission is for both the mentor and mentee to develop lifelong relationships while understanding and appreciating the differences that are reflected through-out the West Port High School campus.

In exchange for their time, mentors will receive community service hours for their participation, a college/job recommendation upon request, and the satisfaction of knowing that they have made a difference in the life of a peer. Mentors will be required receive specialized training on how to best serve our neurodiverse students.

Any student who is willing to share their time and talents can be a mentor! If you have any questions about Wolf Pack United or about becoming a mentor, please email me at Norma. Barnes@marion.k12.fl.us
