Welcome to AICE US History, AICE Global Perspectives, & AICE Travel and Tourism!
I understand that this is a crazy time right now, so I would like to start by saying that I hope you are all doing well. Also, I miss all of you. I know that this is new for all of us but I believe if we work together we will make it through this.
This is an update for how I will be transitioning to distance learning. The majority of my communication with my students will be done through the Remind app. All of my remind codes are posted on my Google Classroom page but if you need the code you can also email me at Miranda.Innis@marion.k12.fl.us
My online learning will be done predominantly through Google Classroom. On this webpage students will be able to find all of their assignments and I will upload vidoes here as well. To my knowledge all of my students are already in a class on Google Classroom but if they need a code they can message me on the Remind App or email me directly.
I know you all may have questions so please do not hesitate to ask. My hours of availability will be 10:00am-2:00pm Monday-Friday; however, I will respond to Remind app messages and emails regularly throughout the week and on weekends. So if you have a question please email me or message me on Remind and I will get back to you as soon as I am able to.
Welcome to my AICE US History, AICE Global Perspectives, and AICE Travel and Tourism classes! I look forward to making this a successful year!
In AICE US History we will be looking at topics such as US expansion, the Civil War and Reconstruction, the Gilded Age and the Progressive Era, and the Great Depression. We will spend our year learning about these topics through the use of in depth reading, analysis of primary and secondary sources, discussion, and projects. AICE is writing intensive and we will write essays on a regular basis. It is CRUCIAL that students stay on track with reading assignments.
In AICE Global Perspectives we will be learning a specific set of skills that will help you in your future endeavors both in and out of the classroom. In this class we will look at global events through various perspectives to better understand our world. In this class you will learn how to do research, analyze sources, write a thourough research paper, and complete a presentation. This class relies heavily on discussion and students will have to stay up to date on current events to promote student involvement in class.
In AICE Travel and Tourism we will be learning about features of the travel and tourism industry as well as principles of customer service. Students in this class will have regular reading assignments and will work in groups to complete a project in which students have to plan a travel and tourism event from start to finish.
I am more than happy to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have. The best way to reach me is through email: firstname.lastname@example.org
