Mrs. Jennifer Moore
Jennifer Moore was born in Tallahassee, FL in 1972. Creativity and making art started at an early age for her and she loved art. She and her sister would draw for hours and hours, creating books of art and practicing Calligraphy, the art of writing. This came as quite a useful skill later as she was employed for private projects. In Port Charlotte, Fl, where she grew up, any extra art class that was offered, she enthusiastically attended. At her high school, she was first inspired to become an Arts Teacher by her high school Art Teacher. It was during this time she sold her first artwork!
After high school, she attended USF in Tampa and received two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Art Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts. She continued to exhibit her artwork and be active in the arts community. It was at this time that she met her husband, Brian Moore, who is a History teacher at West Port High! As a result of the outstanding education she received at USF, she was ready to embark on the best adventure, teaching art! She began teaching K-5 and 9-12 art in Hillsborough County for 3 years, and then when her mother got cancer, she moved to Pinellas County, where she enjoyed 12 years of teaching art to K-8 students. As she continued to make art, starting in Drawing and Painting and extending to Ceramics and finally Fiber Arts, she continued to educate herself through classes and private lessons as well as exhibit in the active arts community of Pinellas County. In 2005, she became a mother, and exuberantly so, to an awesome boy, Milo, who has inherited the creativity of his parents. Milo is 14 years old and goes to school in Citrus County, where she and her family moved in 2011 and where she worked, teaching ESE and art to K-5 students. In 2016, she was so excited to become a part of the West Port High WolfPack, where she was able to dive into the deeper mechanics and thinking that high school art students enjoy. In 2017-present, she was excited to join the MCCA arts program, an advanced and elevated program where exploring and investigating the various levels of the visual arts.
Many exciting hobbies and endeavors have been enjoyed by Jennifer, including riding Vespa scooters, being an active part of Comic book Cultures and working at the esteemed and awesome museum, the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL every summer for ten years.
The next adventure is working at West Port High School, which she is looking forward to with immense excitement!
