Lieutenant Colonel Robert L. Irick was commissioned in the Army as a Transportation Corps Officer following graduation from South Carolina State University in 1987.  Most recently, he served as the Operation Analyst for the United States Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL. 

Lieutenant Colonel Irick served in a variety of command and staff positions which include: Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Company Commander, Deputy Inspector General, Materiel Management Officer, Battalion S3, Battalion Executive Officer, G3 Operations Branch Chief, Deputy Support Operation Officer, Battalion Commander, Brigade Executive Officer, Director of Development for the National Civil Military Operations Center, Special Operations Joint Task Force – Afghanistan (SOJTF-A) and Plans Advisor, NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan (NTM-A).

His military education includes the Transportation Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Officers Advance Course, Combined Arms Staff and Services School, and the Command and General Staff College.

Lieutenant Colonel Irick holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC, and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK.

Among Lieutenant Colonel Irick’s awards are the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal (1OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal (2 OLC), the Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 stars, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Kuwait Defense Service Medal, the Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Liberation Medals the Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
