Hello students and families,
We are currently experiencing some circumstances that we have never encountered before, therefore we have had to take some measures to ensure that you, your child, staff and faculty remain safe and healthy. As a result, our campus is closed and we will be embarking on a new adventure with distance learning. Using a learning platform that is familiar is beneficial for students, therefore I have chosen to implement learning through Google Classroom. I have invited each student via their Marion County email address. The email includes the code that they will need to access learning materials, and have posted it on this page for quick reference as well. In addition, I have posted the same picture as above on the Google Classroom for students for continuity. My goal is to provide you with some tools to continue the learning we have started this year and also provide materials that I know will benefit you as you head toward high school this fall. I ask you to please be patient and flexible as we are all going on this journey together.
If you have anything that you need to share or turn in, there are several free apps (such as Adobe Scan) that you can use to scan with a phone and email to me directly, or you can submit through Google Classroom.
The very best way to contact me is via email. In addition, I will have office hours for you to reach out to me with questions, concerns, or if you just need or want a check-in. My office hours are also posted on this page as well, and I kindly ask that you contact me during these times. I will get back to you within 24 hours with a response.
In addition, we will have Zoom meeting times for you to scheduled if you have questions or concerns. Please be patient during this process of Distance Learning, as we are all learning about this new method together. I am looking forward to hearing from you all!
NOTE TO STUDENTS:
Communication via Email can ONLY be through emails sent from Marion County Public Schools email addresses. If you want or need to email me, please do so ONLY from your student email address (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I am unable to respond to students using personal email addresses.
Please encourage your child to check my webpage daily along with my Google Classroom page and Skyward for any announcements, changes or updates. I am available for you and your child via email or through a video conference with me during my office hours with any questions or concerns about assignments. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please feel free to contact me with anything you may need via the most comfortable method you prefer. I will return your message within 24 hours. If you are leaving a voicemail, please state your name, your child's name, and a phone number where you can be reached along with the reason for calling.
I will be posting assignments both on this page and in Google Classroom. All grades for work turned in will be entered into Skyward.
Please know that I am here for you during these difficult times. My expectations are that you are checking the webpage and Google Classroom daily, maintaining 45 minutes per week on IReady, working on your assignments and turning them in digitally by the due dates.
