Welcome to Geometry!

Distance Learning - PLEASE READ ME!!

  • Zoom, Website, and Pearson! Oh My!

    Hello Social Distancers!

I know you all are eager to get back to the classroom, but we will be distance learning for the remainder of the school year. So what does that mean for us?

That means that I will be hosting and posting video conferences through ZOOM to teach the lessons. These lessons will take place on Wednesdays beginning at 9:00am. The invitation code and password will be on the calendar available for you to join, if you choose to. If you choose not to join, the lesson will be recorded and posted to the website under the Calendar and Class Files.

The blank notes will be available for you to print and follow along with, and a completed copy of the notes will also be posted in the usual manner. There will also be an optional Interactive textbook assigned to you through Pearson Realize. There will be additional support and tutorial videos, assigned but not required, through both Khan Academy and on the eTextbook through Pearson Realize.

As for Graded Assignments, there will be NO required Khan Academy exercises, however, there WILL be digital Lesson Quizzes and digital Additional Practices through Pearson Realize. They will be graded upon completion, and I will put the grades into Skyward on Thursdays. The PDF versions are still available in the Calendar and Class Files, as usual. If you choose this route, please send me a picture of your worksheets via Remind or email. We will be covering one section per week, so you will have from Wednesday to Tuesday to complete the required work and submit it, as well as schedule any tutoring with me to answer any questions and for a more detailed run through of the notes.

Please download the Remind and Zoom apps, if you have not already done so. Remind will be the BEST method of communication to get in touch with me during this distant time. My best communication hours are between 8:00am and 6:00pm. We can schedule one-on-one tutoring sessions as well as Parent Conferences through Zoom for any other additional help. Pay very careful and close attention to the Calendar for our teaching and learning schedule, along with any resources you may need. Again, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help, or anything that you may need.

Please bear with the district, FHS administration and staff, myself, your parents, and each other through this difficult time. We are all still learning how to get by in this new method of teaching and learning.

    Thank you all!!

    Kelly Dunham-Adams
