I started my career with Marion County School Board in 2001 at West Port High School. There, I facilitated the computer lab as a Credit Recovery Specialist, helping students meet their credits for graduation and preparing them for the FCAT.
In 2004 I transferred over to Leon County where I coordinated with other staff members in implementing digital cameras, apple laptops, and other technology within the classroom. I was able to create lesson plans that allowed both the teachers and students to utilize different technology to help their teaching and learning experience come alive.
In 2005 I returned to Marion County School Board to work in the Guidance Department at Marion Technical Institute for a year before switching over to Department of Children and Families. Working for DCF opened my eyes to what could possibly take place in a child’s home before entering a classroom. After a short time I decided it was time to return to the classroom.
In 2006 I took a huge leap from high school to elementary school. The majority of my elementary career was spent in 4th grade. This year I will be teaching 2nd grade and I am looking forward to this amazing change.
