• Class Motto:

“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.” – Ernest Hemingway

Pre-AICE English prepares students for AICE-level classes. Students will become skilled readers of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry written in a variety of periods and rhetorical contexts. Additionally, by composing for different purposes and audiences, students will also become writers. The AS- and A-level courses are college-level courses and are appropriately complex. Vocabularies will be expanded, writing will be improved, and conventions will be challenged. The intent of AICE courses is to prepare students to attend a university after graduation. It is a shared responsibility among the student, instructor, school, and other stakeholders to engage students and acclimate them to life in post-secondary education.
