Behavior Management

  • students

I believe Classroom Management is the key component in any educational setting. I believe that if students are in a safe environment, then learning can take place. This doesn’t necessarily mean punishing behavior problems but rather a combination of setting the tone in a class, preventing behavior problems with interesting and engaging curriculums and effectively including all students in the classroom so that their needs are met. Having the right environment for all students to learn is my major goal of implementing good classroom management--without it the students would not be able to learn.

**NOTE**  I have stopped using the CLASS123 app for tracking behavior.  Not all parents were able to access the app, so I decided to go back to using the traditional colored clip chart.  The colors will be recorded in your child's planner each day before he/she leaves to go home.  Below is the meaning for each color:

    Pink - Model Student

    Purple - Great Job

    Blue - Good Choices

    Green - Ready to Learn

    Orange - Make Better Choices

    Yellow - Think About It

    Red - Parent Contact

All students will begin the day on the color GREEN.  As they progress throughout the day, their color will change depending on their attitude and behavior.  Students who move down to orange, yellow, and red always  have a chance to redeem themselves and move to another color by following directions and getting along with others.  Please check your child's planner daily and sign off that you have viewed their color.
