Mrs. Colleen Moore

Hello Dunnellon Middle School Students and Family.  My name is Colleen Moore (formerly Mushlit), and I am the Health Occupations Instructor at Dunnellon Middle School.  This will be my official 2nd year here teaching at Dunnellon.  In 2013, I was welcomed aboard to join this amazing team / family, as a "Long Term Substitute Teacher", for the very same subject area.  It feels like I have never left, and I am ecstatic to be back for the long haul. I was born and raised in a Suburb right outside of Chicago, IL., and moved here with my parents at the tender age of 12.  I currently reside in Homosassa Springs, Citrus County, with my loving husband, and my 2 amazing daughters.  My oldest is 14, and started her freshman year of highschool, and my youngest is 11, and she started her first year of middle school.  My husband and I both ride motorcycles, and as a family we enjoy any sport that is outdoors, especially kayaking on the river, and free diving in the underwater caves.  I am an avid Dallas Cowboys Football fan, and in my spare time, you can usually find me at the local county football field cheering on my husband's flag football team, or playing the role of "team medic" and taking care of any injured players. - You would be surprised how many injuries are involved in "FLAG FOOTBALL", which is supposed to be a non contact sport.  LOL.  I am also an extreme couponer, and enjoy stocking up on essentials, and donating the extras to local shelters in need, so if you find yourself throwing away coupons weekly, please consider donating them to me for future hauls to the stores, which then allow me to help anyone in need.  I have been involved in the healthcare field since prior to graduating highschool, starting with volunteering at the local retirement home, and my career and training have continued to take off from there. In my opinion, it has proven to be the most rewarding career field choice, with the exception of parenting, of course.  I believe I have found my calling with my love for all children, in combination with my passion for healthcare.  Every day I get out of bed with confidence that I am going to make a difference in the lives of these students, and I take comfort in sharing my knowledge, hoping to pave the way for our future healthcare workers.
