Textbook and Workbook (Classroom set only): Introduction To Health Science Technology, Second Edition by Louise Simmers, Karen Simmers-Nartker, Sharon Simmers-Kobelak, Introduction to Health Science, (Pathways to Your Future), Dorothy Winger and Susan Blahnik.
Orientation to Health Science Professions is designed to provide an introduction and overview of the health care field and the employment opportunities available. We also have a second year class, Explorations of Health Science Professions in which we will dig a little deeper into the health industry and health related careers. I plan to include lecture, videos, discussion, student demonstration, lab activities, games, online assignments and projects to make this an interesting and fun class in which students will enjoy their learning experience. I hope to cultivate an exciting interest of the health care industry and even if the health care industry is not for you maybe you will discover the importance of living a healthy lifestyle in whatever career you choose.
