Mrs. Judith Rickett
Hello! I am excited to be teaching the art of Math to high school students! I come from a varied background which includes many life experiences that I use in my classroom to help educate the students. I am an Air Force veteran having served 9 years as a Russian linguist. This position allowed me to travel to England, Germany, and Italy as well as around the United States. While in the military, I never stopped learning. I took classes with colleges that were available on the base. I joined a sail plane club in England and flew gliders in my off time when able. My trip to Italy allowed me to visit Venice, Rome, San Marino, and Trieste. I jumped out of an airplane in Arizona and enjoyed riding my motorcycle through the desert southwest visiting sites such as Tombstone and other places where the cowboys roamed. I attended the University of Arizona, studying computer and electrical engineering. My family settled in Florida and I attended the University of Florida. I changed majors and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences, concentration Animal Biology. I worked in the administrative side of a veterinary clinic and thoroughbred farm. I went into teaching with Marion County, starting at the high school level where I taught Chemistry, Physics, Financial Algebra, and Algebra I. I have taught middle school math with Fort King Middle, including Algebra I. Now, I have found my home with North Marion High School, teaching Algebra 2 and Math for College Readiness.
In my spare time, I enjoy riding my motorcycle (I call it wind therapy), fishing (saltwater and freshwater), and reading.
I am excited to be a part of the North Marion Colts family!
