Degrees and Certifications:
Saint Leo University Elementary Education K-6 Reading and ESOL Endorsed
Ever since first grade, I have had the desire to become a teacher. I started out my career in Marion County at the age of 19. I worked as a Visually Impaired paraprofessional, this allowed me to work one on one with a student. While working I went to college, graduating from Saint Leo University with a degree in Elmentary Education (K-6 ESOL & Reading Endorsed). It was during my schooling that I got to intern at Maplewood in 5th grade. There I learned how much of a passion I had for the older students. After graduating from college I worked at Belleview Elementary and Chester Shell Elementary. I eventually worked my way up from 3rd grade to 4th when I recieved the blessings of being able to return to Maplewood Elementary to teach 5th grade! Since that time I have been able to work with some amazing kids, and look forward to the year ahead.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my family, friends and volunteering at my church with things like the nursery and Night To Shine. My family is a huge part of my life! My husband and I have a beautiful little girl (3 years) and a handsome little man (18 months). They keep me busy but I am thankful for the blessing they are in my life and how much they teach me daily.
