All About Beta Club
Since 1998, Fort McCoy has been a member of the National Junior BETA club which was founded in 1934. The Mission of the BETA club is to promote academic achievement, character, service and leadership among our 5th – 8th grade Students. These ideals are reflected in our motto, “Let us Lead by Serving Others” as we focus on ways we can help those in our school, community and beyond. BETA members not only perform community service as a club, but also on an individual basis. As a club, they attend a State Convention in February and are eligible to attend a National Convention in June.
Membership requirements are;
- Earn and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average
- Exhibit leadership, honesty, integrity,
- Teacher recommendation
- 2 hours of community service per month
- Attend BETA Club meetings and participate in BETA activities
Beta Club meetings are twice a month; the 1st and 3rd Wednesday after school. In addition to planning and working on community service projects, the members are also working on leadership skills, enhancing their academic skills, engaging in projects with either a STEM focus, or a focus on the Arts.
