    Hello, my name is Heather Guest and I am the Principal at Harbour View Elementary.  I graduated from the University of South Florida in 1994 with a Bachelor’s and immediately began teaching students with special needs in Pasco County. I moved back to Ocala in the year 2000 where I have been ever since.  I have taught 1st grade, 3rd grade, technology coordinator and an Assistant Principal.  I have a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida.  When I am not working, I spend time with my husband, two teenagers and my toddler.  I look forward to meeting you and having you join our Harbour View family.

    Hello! My name Is Sarah Dobbs and I am an Assistant Principal at Harbour View Elementary. I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. I began working in Marion County Schools in 2011 as a Kindergarten teacher, 4th grade teacher, and a Dean of Students. I earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. When I am not working, I spend most of my time outdoors with my husband, our 6 year old and new little one. I have high hopes of watching Harbour View students achieve BIG dreams, and I am eager to see each of our students grow!

    Hello.  My name is Scott Wheeler and I am an Assistant Principal at Harbour View Elementary.  I began working with Marion County Public Schools in 2007; during my time with MCPS I have served as a teacher, athletic coach, dean and now my current role as Assistant Principal.  I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida.  When I am not at school, my wife and I stay busy chasing our two young daughters all the places they go.  I love working in the field of education and enjoy seeing all the learning that occurs here at Harbour View.  If you ever have a question about our school or your child’s education, don’t hesitate to contact me.

    Hello, my name is Karly Miller and I am the Student Services Manager (Dean) at Harbour View Elementary. I earned a Bachelor's Degree from St. Leo University in 2010. As I was working to obtain my Bachelor's Degree, I was a K-5 Paraprofessional. I have taught kindergarten and first grade. I have been a  technology coordinator, VPK Coach, and a Student Services Manager. I hold a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from St. Leo University. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my husband and one year old little boy! I am very excited to join the Harbour View family!

    Vera Light

    School Counselor - 1st, 3rd, 5th Grades

     

    Hello! My name is Vera Light and I am excited to be entering my second year at Harbour View Elementary as the School Counselor for grades 3-5. I earned my Master’s degree in School Counseling through the University of Central Florida Counselor Education program. Through this program, I was able to gain many experiences that have bolstered my counseling skills; in turn, allowing me to better serve the students that I work with. As someone who grew up in Ocala, I look forward to giving back to the community that helped shape me into the person that I am today. I also, of course, look forward to working with you and your child! My goal is for our students to reach optimal development by supporting the fulfillment of their social, emotional, educational, and vocational needs. Please let me know if you have any questions about my role in the school or the services that I offer. Communication and collaboration are of the utmost importance in the success of our students. When I am not working, I can often be found on adventures with my husband. I find education to be an adventure as well, so thank you for joining Harbour View for this journey.

    School Counselor - KG, 2nd, 4th Grades

     

    Hello, my name is Mindy Moore and I am thrilled to be joining the HVE family as the Kindergarten, Second, and Fourth grade Guidance Counselor.  I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education.  I joined the Marion County School System in 2005.  I have served MCPS students as a Self-Contained Teacher, Support Facilitator, and Academic Intervention Coach.  I am excited to step into a new role as School Counselor and look forward to being a source of guidance and support for our students and their families.  When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two sons.  As a family we enjoy going to FSU football games, spending time at the beach, and camping.  I'm looking forward to the new adventure this school year will bring!

    Professional Development Specialist (Reading Coach)

     

    Hi, I am Christina Marzullo, I am the Reading Coach at Harbour View Elementary.  I have been in education since 1996 and with Marion County Public Schools since 2008.  As the reading coach it is my responsibility to provide teachers, students, and parents with materials, resources and training that help our students become better readers and writers. The students at Harbour View refer to me as a “Brain Coach” because I help them use and strengthen their brains.

    Hello, I am Tammy Swinehart. I am the Content Area Specialist in reading for Harbour View Elementary.  I have enjoyed helping elementary students in Marion County Public Schools grow and learn since 1985. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Stetson University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from St. Leo University.    As the reading coach, it is my responsibility to provide teachers, students, and parents with materials, resources and training that will help our students become better readers and writers.  Reading is the key to success and it is my goal to help all students achieve.
