We are currently beginning a unit on multiplication and division and learning how to use multiple strategies to solve these types of problems.  We will be concentrating on the "why" rather than the memorization of math facts.  It is critical that students are able to interpret products and discover why, for example, that 7 x 8 = 56.  Drilling your child on their times tables will not be required.



    Currently in science, we have been discussing the states of matter -  solid, liquid, and gas - specifically, the states of ice, water, and water vapor.  We will also be working with temperature using Fahrenheit and Celsius.  

    As we close out on the first 9 weeks, I want to let you know that I am very proud of how hard the students are working.  I look forward to their continued growth throughout the school year.
