National History Day is a competition based on historical inquiry and presentation. Students conduct research about a historical movement, event or person based on a theme (the theme for 2018 is " Confict and Compromise in History" and then create one of 5 types of projects or presentation formats for their research: Paper, Exhibit, Performance, Documentary or Website (using www.nhd.weebly.com). Students can work individually or as part of group. The projects are judged at a local school level History Fair (February, 2018), the winning entries go on to County or District History Fairs (March, 2018), State History Fair (May, 2018) and then the National competition (June, 2018) in Maryland. If you are interested see Mr.Quiñones during Hawk Hour or Ms. Tromley, the Gifted teacher.
