Aimee L. Shawley’s Professional Biography


Aimee L. Shawley was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1979. In 1982, she moved to Marion County with her family, where she has resided for 34 years. She attended Marion County Public Schools where she graduated from Lake Weir High School in 1997. During her time at Lake Weir High she was greatly influenced by her freshman English teacher who instilled in her the desire to become an educator.

As a young adult, Aimee worked as a medical billing manager as she worked her way through college at the College of Central Florida and transferring to Saint Leo University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. During her new career, she has worked for Lake County Public Schools in Leesburg as an Intensive Reading teacher and at Marion County Public Schools in Ocala, Florida as an Intensive Reading teacher. Beginning her career she has already been nominated as the Rookie Teacher of the year at both schools that she has worked for.

In 2016, she enrolled in her Master’s program for Educational Leadership at National Louis University. Since then she has worked with many well versed leaders and acquired many new skills involved in becoming a truly distinguished leader. She is very excited to be graduating from National Louis University with her Masters in Educational Leadership and looks forward to furthering her career with the Marion County School Board.

She is married to her husband, Robert. She is very close to her family including her parents, sister, and brother. She has no children of her own, although she is a very proud Aunt to three nieces and four nephews. In her spare time she can normally be found watching them play in the band or soccer games.
