Mrs. Aimee Shawley

I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1979. In 1982, I moved to Marion County with my family, where I have resided for 37 years. I attended Marion County Public Schools where I graduated from Lake Weir High School in 1997. During my time at Lake Weir High I was greatly influenced by my freshman English teacher who instilled in me the desire to become an educator.

As a young adult, I worked as a medical billing manager as I worked my way through college at the College of Central Florida and transferring to Saint Leo University where I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. During my new career, I have worked for Lake County Public Schools in Leesburg as an Intensive Reading teacher and at Marion County Public Schools in Ocala, Florida as an Intensive Reading teacher, ESE Inclusion Teacher, and Site Coordinator for the 21st Century Program.

In 2017, I completed my Master’s program for Educational Leadership at National Louis University. Since then I have worked with many well versed leaders and acquired many new skills involved in becoming a truly distinguished leader.

I am married to my husband, Robert. I am very close to my family including my parents, sister, and brother. I have no children of my own, although I am a very proud Aunt to three nieces and four nephews. In my spare time I can normally be found reading a book or spending time with my family.
