• A large part of all health occupation classes will include exploring the many different occupations in the health care field with extensive research on job outlook, educational programs, length of training, licensure/certification and areas of specialization and salary. Medical terminology is the backbone of the health human service career cluster.

    This course is for students exploring careers in the allied health field.

    The course will cover:

    • The history of health care
    • Health care delivery systems
    • Legal and Ethical responsibilities
    • Infection Control

    Grading Scale:

    Assessments = 35%

    Classwork = 20%

    Quiz/Daily classwork = 10%

    Test/Projects = 35%

    ALL MAKE UP WORK NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN 5 SCHOOL DAYS FROM AN EXCUSED ABSENCE DURING POWER HOUR OR AFTER SCHOOL.  
    Cut off for submitting late work is 7 days before end of quarter.
