Mr. Jeremy Shepard

A little about me, I am entering my tenth year as the Guitar Instructor at West Port High School. I graduated from the University of North Florida in 2009 with a B.A. in Music with a minor in History, prior to that I received my A.A. - Liberal Arts from the College of Central Florida in 2007. I am an Ocala native and graduated from Lake Weir High School in 2004.

Over the years I have picked up several different instruments but Guitar and Bass Guitar became my favorites with the latter being my principle instrument during my time in college. I started on clarinet in 6th grade at Lake Weir Middle School, around my sophomore year in high school I picked up Guitar and Bass Guitar, my junior year I started playing sousaphone/tuba. After high school I spent a little bit of time with a band touring playing drum set but decided I wanted to go to college and settle in on bass guitar. While in college I also learned bass clarinet, trombone, and the double bass (upright bass).

When not practicing or performing my hobbies included aquariums; specifically reef tanks.. I am also an Eagle Scout (2003) and Scouting has led me to a life enjoying rock climbing, challenge course events, and scuba diving. I am also interested in taking up breeding ornamental marine fish to help the hobby pull less from the ocean and more from aquaculture facilities to help be more sustainable.

Some of my more recent adventures include scuba diving various sites around the state of Florida. Some of which include Troy Springs, Alexander Springs, Blue Heron Bridge, Scout Key, and the Rainbow River.
