Mr. Spencer Reeder
I have been teaching over 35 years, and believe that one of my most important responsibilities is to help each student see the relativity of the subject matter to his or her own life. In order to create such an environment in my classroom, I still subscribe to the educational idea "that most students don't really care how much you know until they know how much you care."
My undergraduate degree in education is from Troy University and my Master's Degree in Education Leadership is from St. Leo University.
I have taught grade levels 1-12th and numerous courses including philosophy, contemporary history, New Testament History, and different sciences. This is my thirtheenth year at West Port High School. I have previously taught at Belleview and Dunnellon High School. Presently, I'm teaching public speaking, Teacher Assisting I, II, III and IV and OJT. I am also the sponsor for the school's Debate club and FFEA club.
I'm married to fellow educator, Laurie Reeder, and I'm the father of three daughters. My second and third daughter are West Port graduates and all three are graduates of Marion County schools.
