Greetings Parents and Students:

My name is Margarita Cornier and I'm West Port's ESOL I, II, III, IV and Developmental Language Arts teacher.  

I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

I have lived in the United States for 18 years, 5 of them in Miami, Florida.  I'm the mom of two amazing boys. They're my pride and joy. 

Teaching is my passion and besides spending time with my children and family in Puerto Rico there is nothing else that I enjoy the most than seeing my student's faces when they accomplish their goals.  My favorite hobbies are traveling and reading. My favorite authors are Gabriel García Marquez, Isabel Allende and Laura Esquivel.  My favorite books: The Bible, The Knight of the Rusty  Armour,  Maria, and El Principito (The Little Prince), which I believe everyone should read sometime in life.  I will surely share my passion for reading with all of my students.

This is my 10th year in the school system and I have to say that West Port is the best school in the world!

Students:

This school year will be different.  Things will be done in an unusual way due to the COVID Pandemic.  Schools, teachers and students must follow CDC guidelines and school's procedures.  We all hope that current conditions change and we can go back to regular instruction.  While that happens, lets collaborate by being disciplined, studious, and responsible with our school work and safety.  I will help you as much as I can and will instruct you with the same professionalism as I always have.  Quality teaching and learning will continue with the same enthusiasm in the classroom and online.  We're ready... We can do it... and We will do it! GO WOLFPACK!
