Thanks for an Awesome Year!
First Grade, Here We Come!
The end of kindergarten is almost here and we have come a long way since August! Our boys and girls have learned a lot of new skills and concepts during our time together. We see them counting, adding and subtracting. They are recognizing high frequency sight words, blending sounds and reading. Our girls and boys have made new friends and even helped blast off a rocket together! I would like to say a great big thank you to all of the families who have supported us through our journey. The snacks, supplies and support you gave at our class and school events has helped get us through! Again, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
End of the Year Activities
In our last couple of weeks together, we have some fun activities planned. On Thursday, May 17th, Maplewood will be having a field day for K-2 students. Please make sure to send your child in play clothes and bring some water. On Friday, May 18th, we will be having a movie day as a reward for our students who have consistently displayed our big 3 (Responsibility, Respect, and being Ready) Alternate activities are planned for those who will not be able to participate. For our last week of school, each day will be a special one. Monday will be our kindergarten outside fun day. Our morning will consist of all outside activities with all other kindergarten classes participating together. On Tuesday, we will have our indoor fun day. Students will rotate from class to class working with different stations. This will allow us all the chance to say our goodbyes to everyone. Wednesday, the students will get to choose a suprise activity! Thursday is our only early release day where we dismiss at 12:05. On this day, we will celebrate our time together as well as our summer birthdays. If you have any questions about our end of the year schedule, please feel free to call or email me.
