Mrs. Tamara Alvarado
Hello my name is Mrs. Tamara Alvarado and I'm excited to have your child in my class.
My background is in special education. I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Miami in 2009 with a major in special education and Spanish. In addition, I continued my education at Nova Southeastern University where I received my master's degree in brain-based teaching with a focus on reading and literacy in 2013. Currently I am actively pursuing my doctorate degree in educational leadership and should be finished in 2020.
I am a native of South Florida. I have lived in Ocala since the early 2000s and all of my children have gone through the Marion County Public School System. I believe in public school education and I believe in the wonderful school family that we have at Maplewood Elementary School. This is currently my third year at Maplewood Elementary School.
I am married and have seven children. We enjoy the country life Marion County has to offer, and have eight horses, and amazing dog named Lily, and a cool orange tabby cat named Epon. I am a starbucks loving pescatarian who enjoys horse racing and cruising.
I am so thrilled for the opportunity to work with your child this year, I know we are going to have a wonderful and exciting year full fun activities like the VSA Art Festival, Fall Festival, the transportation parade, and many other exciting events that occur throughout the year.
I encourage you to become a member of the Maplewood Parent-Teacher Association and to become an active member of our school community. Also, make sure you fill out that volunteer application and find a time that works for you to come out and spend time in our school community.
