Google Classroom (classroom.google.com) is an online learning platform that we will utilize the next few weeks as we partake in distance learning. This platform allows students to access resources and assignments shared by the teacher, as well as turn in assignments, keep track of due dates, comment on posts, and take quizzes and tests. Google Classroom can be accessed through the MCPS student desktop portal under the "Google Apps" tab. Students joined our virtual classroom at the beginning of the school year, and have utilized it in class many times. With that said, everyone should be set up and ready to go!
If Google Classroom asks for an email and password upon entry, your child's email is their email@example.com, and their password is what they use to log into their portal. You must log out of your personal Google/Gmail account. Students need to be logged into Google with their school email address in order to access our classroom! If you have difficulties getting in, please contact me for assistance.
I plan to use Zoom (https://zoom.us) to meet virtually as a group at least once a week. Zoom is an online platform that will allow us to check in with one another, debrief, and ask questions. We can also utilize this video conferencing time for mini-lessons and read alouds. You are not required to download the software or app to your device. All you have to do is click the link I share with you through Class Dojo and type in the meeting password. If you have questions or concerns regarding this method of learning, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Great news! While we are distance learning, we can take AR quizzes from home. When you are ready to take a quiz click this link: https://hosted257.renlearn.com/72115/
