• Digital Design 1, 2, 3 & 4


    These classes are designed to develop basic entry-level skills required for careers in the digital publishing industry.  The content includes computer skills; digital publishing concepts and operations; layout, design, and measurement activities; decision-making activities; and digital imaging. After completing the competencies of this course students will have developed knowledge necessary to create and combine photographs and text into digital publishing and digital imaging.  The elements and principles of design are applied. Design 2 students prepare for industry certifications as Adobe Certified Associates. Articulated credit can be earned for an Associate in Science Degree at Santa Fe Community College.           

        According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics employment of graphic designers in computer systems design and related services is projected to grow 35 percent between 2012 -2022. With the increased use of the internet, graphic designers will be needed to create designs and images for portable devices, websites, electronic publications, and video entertainment media.




         Digital Information Technology


    This course is designed to provide an introduction to information technology concepts and careers as well as the impact information technology has on the world, people, and industry and basic web design concepts.  The content includes information technology career research; operating systems and software applications; electronic communications including e-mail and Internet services; basic HTML, DHTML, and XML web commands and design; and emerging technologies and web page design.
