Ms. Martha Mintner

Welcome to Psychology!

I teach IB Psychology, AP Psychology as well as General Psychology.  I am certified in Social Sciences, English, Middle Grades, and ESE.  Originally from St. Louis, I have degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Drury University, in Springfield, MO.  I am passionate about Psychology and the study of behavior and mental processes.  I hope to transfer some of that passion to my students.  My husband Michael and I are "empty nesters".  I have two children, Emily and Wil.  Emily is the Administrative Director of Rehabilitation Services and Behavioral Health for Citrus Memorial Hospital (and a Florida Gator).  Wil graduated in 2015 from Lake Weir High School and attended Florida Southern College where he majored in pre-med and was an NCAA Division II swimmer.  Wil passed away in 2015 while at college.  This tragedy compelled Emily to begin the Wil-Power Foundation which seeks to prevent others from experiencing the same heartbreak our family has experienced.  As a result, the foundation carries out the Heads Above Water program for graduating seniors at all Marion county high schools.  The Wil-Power Foundation also provides 2 scholarships for college bound Marion county students.  Both of these programs are funded by the Caveman Challenge held in Ocala every May.  Michael and I enjoy our family, movies, and our 5 Dachshunds; Scooter, Sara, Sadie, Sampson, and Snickers!  I look forward to working with you and your family as you begin your discovery of Psychology!
