Important information regarding Distance Learning:
I hope all of you are safe and in good health. I want to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we embark on this new adventure together. We will begin Distance Learning April 1st.
I will be using Class Dojo as the primary means of communication. You can contact me through Dojo from 7:45 a.m.- 2:05 p.m. I will schedule meetings, conferences, and tutorials during my office hours, which are from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. If you contact me outside of those hours I will get back to you as soon as possible (within 24 hours). I will be using Zoom for meetings, live instruction, and soical interaction.
ZOOM disclaimer: Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.). These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms. If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
Parents please have your child go to this free website, www.commonlit.org/en/enroll,
and sign-in using this code GE73K8. I will be using this website for ELA. Everything else can be accessed from your child's desktop portal. I will send out my lessons, through Dojo, for the week. Students will have 3 ELA tasks, 3 Math tasks, 1 Science task, and 1 Social Studies task to complete each week. In addition, students should complete 45 minutes per week for both i-Ready Reading and Math. Please make sure that students are taking their time and passing lessons. I will be monitoring their usage. If your child fails a lessons please contact me so that I can reteach them before they take the lesson again. Also, students should read 20 minutes daily. This can be through Myon or other books. My family is currently reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
