Week of January 27th Newsletter
Self Determination and Health Education
This week we will be practicing skills in all subjects and working on personal goals. Students will also be getting ready for their school based special Olympics event by learning new stretches and running techniques.
The Special Olympics Culminating Event will be March 13th and more information will be sent home as we get closer to the event.
This week we will be talking about early explorers of the United States.
Students will bring home a journal and are to watch or read a news report, choose a topic and write the who, what, when, where and why of the report. Directions will be in the journal along with an example done in class.
English Language Arts
This week we will have a test on The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton on Wednesday and will begin reading Number the Stars by Lois Lowry on Thursday and Friday.
Homework: Practicing sequence worksheet handed out Monday due Wednesday.
We have started to apply the basics of algebraic equations to linear functions by relating them to real world scenarios.
All students – Sadie Hawkins dance is February 21st, tickets are on sale now for $10.
11th and 12th graders – Prom tickets are on sale now! Prom is on April 4th and tickets cost $120 if bought before January 31st and $140 after.
11th and 12th graders will be visiting the project search worksite on February 5th, permission slips are due now.
12th graders - Grad Bash is held at Universal Studios and will be on April 25, 2020. The cost is $105 and is due with a permission slip no later than February 4.
