Ms. Gina Harris
Hello! I am Gina Harris, a VE Inclusion Teacher at Greenway Elementary School. I work in small groups teaching reading and math along with the classroom teacher. I assist ESE (Exceptional Student Education) students as well as others who may need additional help in some academic areas. This is my 9th year at Greenway as a VE (Varying Exceptionalities) teacher.
I am Co-coordinator of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) at Greenway. The program offers after school and summer academic and personal enrichment opportunities. It is a free federally funded program and we currently offer 12 different after school courses.
I think it is very important to focus on providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary to survive and also succeed in our society. This philosophy promotes education that focuses on educating students in a way that teaches them to become productive adults that can adapt to our changing society and still function. I think every child can learn and should learn, however not every child will learn in the same way at the same pace. All people do not solve the same problems in the exact same way and that is just fine, since we are all different.
My hobbies and interests include serving God, photography, teaching, traveling, participating in mission work, motorcycle riding, and taking any opportunity to learn new things through experience.
