Welcome to Mrs. Francis' Terrific Third Grade

  • Parents/Guardians and students:  As we continue with at home/distance learning, keeping ourselves and others safe, I want to remind each of my wonderful students that I miss you, I love you and I hope you are all staying safe!  Below is a list of on-line learning opportunities for students to continue their ELA/Social Studies instruction. Please be sure to check Mr. Norreggard's web-page for your Math and Science instruction.  Be sure to take notice of assignments with specific dates and/or times (example:  iReady Reading should be done at 15 minutes 2 days and 16 minutes 1 day, for a total of 46 minutes total each week).

To access iReady and MyOn, log onto your student portal, choose correct tile, click and begin.  Please complete 20 minutes of reading via MyOn each day.  Remember to read then complete accompanying test, and when the purple envelope appears at the top left of your screen, be sure to complete the assessment to raise your reading level.  MyOn has books available in both English and Spanish.  Complete a total of 46 minutes on iReady reading each week, please spread out over two to three days.

You should also complete 1 book each day via ReadWorks.  If you do not remember our class code, please email me and I will forward it to you.  As this web-page is accessible for the public, I will not post that information here.  If you would like, you may read and complete the comprehension test for more than 1 book a day, your choice, as long as you complete one.  You may read the books on your list in any order.

Language Arts activities are to be accessed via the on-line site IXL Learning at IXL.com.  Once you are on the IXL homepage, chose Language Arts, then scroll down to 3rd grade, click and enter.  IXL.com provides the choice to complete ELA activities in English and/or Spanish.  Complete one per day.

You will need to complete one Social Studies lesson/activity per day via National Geographic Kids (Free, on-line) at kids.nationalgeographic.com.

Please see the "Assignments" tab for further information on each of these assignments.

If you have any questions or concerns, require having printed materials to be able to complete your assignments or you'd just like to drop me a line, please do not hesitate to email me at elizabeth.francis@marion.k12.fl.us.

I look forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces again soon!
