    Language Arts 

    • 4.RI.1.2: Determine the main idea of a text and explain how it is supported by key details; summarize the text.

    • 4.RL.1.3: Describe in depth a character, setting, or event in a story or drama

    • RI.2.5: Describe/identify the type of structure the writer uses in events, ideas, concepts, or information in a text or part of a text. For example, sequence, problem and solution, cause and effect or main idea and details.

    In writing, the focus will be on Informative Writing. Student will 

    4.W.1.2b: Develop the topic with facts, definitions, concrete details, quotations and examples.

    Math  (Place value).

    • Skills/Concept;4.NBT.2.5  – Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.

    • Skills/Concept: 4.OA.1.2 – Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem, distinguishing multiplicative comparison from additive comparison.


    • SC.4.P.8.4:  Investigate and describe that magnets can attract magnetic materials and attract and repel other magnets.

    Social Studies

    The three branches of government (executive, legislative and judiciary).
