Welcome to 7th Grade Life Science
I look forward to a successful and exciting year. Our learning experience will incorporate classroom, laboratory and field inquiry. In Life Science you will be expected to take initiative and responsibility for your performance. I will facilitate an experience that will culminate in your academic and hands on experience and proficiency that I expect will be challenging, rewarding and provide you with the knowledge and skills to pass the Marion County Schools District Final exam in May.
You will work independently, and in small groups, to research, discuss and develop your knowledge of biology. You will use the internet, class lessons and discussions, laboratory work and reading and writing assignments. You are expected to:
- Do your own work.
- Capitalization at the start of sentences.
- Punctuation at the end of sentences.
- Appropriate commas in a series.
- Write complete sentences
- Legible handwriting.
- Be on time for class
- Participate and stay engaged until the end of class.
- Follow classroom rules.
- Be polite, courteous and respectful to me and your peers.
- Ask questions whenever you need clarity.
The course content for Life Science is included in the course syllabus that you will be or were given at the beginning of the school year. The syllabus will be signed by both you and your parent/guardian. That means you accept the responsibilities expected in Life Science required of you. It will be turned in by the end of the first week of classes for a test grade.
The End of Course District Final Exam makes up 25% of your final grade. It is imperative for you to study at home or come to my class before school to study. I am available for tutoring at no cost to my students.
