Digital Video Production 1 thru 4
The purpose of Digital Video Production is to prepare students for initial employment as production assistants,
audio/video equipment technician, video/TV camera operators, computer/video editors, multi-media artists/animators
and broadcast technicians. This course also gives students who want to study television production, film, and
related multi-media a solid background to continue on to college.
Digital Video Production offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent, rigorous content aligned with challenging
academic standards, relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education. Digital Production also prepares students for
careers in the Arts, A/V Technology and Communication career cluster. It also provides technical skill proficiency, and
includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning,
problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills,
and knowledge of all aspects of the Arts, Audio/Visual Technology and Communication career cluster.
The content includes, but is not be limited to communication skills; leadership skills; human relations and employability
skills; safe and efficient work practices; and preparation to assume responsibility for overall production of digital video
activities including: scripts, lighting, camera operation, electronic news gathering, field/studio production, graphics and
computer video editing.
The culmination of the program is the opportunity to earn an ADOBE Professional Certification in Premiere Pro
video editing software. Students are prepared for employment as a studio assistant or to continue on to college in
the Digital Video or related fields after completing the sequence of courses.
