Mrs. Lindsey
Welcome! I am Mrs. Lindsey and I teach 8th grade Physical Science and High School Honors Physical Science. I have been blessed to work at Fort McCoy School for the past 27 years. I started my teaching career here and even met my husband here. I consider the faculty and staff my family and Fort McCoy School my home. Our students are wonderful, the surrounding area (ie: forest and wildlife) is refreshing and rejuvenating, and our campus is beautiful and well equipped. My husband always said that “Fort McCoy School is Marion County’s best kept secret” and I agree which is why I plan to continue teaching here until I retire (in another 15 years). ♥
Throughout the year, we will be hard at work reading, writing, and talking about science, doing lab activities, investigating, calculating, analyzing, etc. Not only do I want you to learn about chemistry and physics but I also hope that you will enjoy science!
I look forward to getting to know you!
A little more about me:
I have a daughter (college senior) and a son (high school senior). We have several pets: 1 cat, 1 dog, and 4 chickens. (In the past we have had an iguana, a parrot, guinea pigs, a donkey, pigs, steer, and sheep). I love to read, especially mysteries/suspense thrillers and science fiction (favorite authors include Michael Crichton, James Patterson, Brad Thor, Cassandra Clare, Janet Evanovich, Lee Child, Tess Gerritson,. . . .). I admit that I am a Star Trek fan (of all series and movies). I love to draw but never seem to have time. I like to do Zumba and strength training. My musical tastes are eclectic – mostly country (ie: Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood) and classic rock (ie: the Eagles, Aerosmith); but also other artists such as Enya, Chris Tomlin, P!nk, One Republic, and the Kongos.
