Hello my friends!  Of all the things I miss the most right now, it's you!  I miss our good mornings.  I miss our read alouds.  We still have movies we need to finish.

I have been busy planning online lessons and paper pencil activities for you.  You will be able to access them right here on our East Marion webpage.  These activities will help prepare you for 3rd grade.  Some of them will have links for you to click.  The others will have to be done with paper and pencil.  Right now math will be in your Think Central e-textbook link.  Your weekly lessons will be found in your to do list on your Think Central tile.  Reading lessons will come from Readworks.  Readworks will be a link on the weekly assignment tab that you click on. Social studies and science are also available.

We will get to meet up with each other through an online program called Zoom. I am trying to get it loaded to your portal. If you get a school chrome book, it is already there!  For now, there is a link called Zoom on our web page.  Click it to sign up.  Use the google sign in button, then click create an account.  We'll meet up twice a day to check in on each other to see how everyone is doing.  Zoom teleconferencing will be every weekday at 9:00am and 1:00pm.  It should be ready to launch on Wednesday morning.  You will get a link sent to your email to access the meeting.  Click on that link and presto chango, we will be back together.  I hope to see all of you tomorrow morning!  I want each day to be a theme day.  Maybe Mondays should be pajama day.  What do you think?  We will chat about it on Wednesday.

One thing that I would like for you to start right away is a journal.  Every day I want you to write about what life is like for you and your family during this COVID-19 pandemic.  Write about your feelings.  Write about what you see, what hear, and what you know.  Write about this new online school adventure.  Draw pictures.  Record everything.  This journal will become a precious book to share with your grandchildren when you turn 99 years old--like me.

I'm sending my cell phone number to your personal email accounts.  Shhhhh, keep it a secret-don't give it out to all your friends and no calling after midnight!!  You'll wake up Molly.  She gets really grump when she doesn't get enough beauty sleep.  You can call me at 9:00am and 1:00pm if you can't get into Zoom.

I love you all very much.  Take care of yourself by washing your hands to the ABCs and covering your cough and your sneeze.

Love and hugs, Mrs. Price
