Miss Mary Zorich

This is my 36th year of teaching.  I started out as an elementary teacher where I taught one year in Minnesota.  I then moved to Florida where I have completed 34 years of teaching in Marion County.  As an elementary teacher, I taught 16 years at Oakcrest Elementary in grades 1, 4, and 5.  The next five years were at Ward Highlands Elementary in grades 1, 2, and 3.  I then moved to Osceola where this will be my 14th year of teaching middle school mostly in 6th and 7th grade math, although I have also taught 6th grade science.

Family is very important to me.  My family lived in Pipestone, Minnesota where I grew up as the youngest of 4 children.  I had 2 older sisters and one older brother.  My dad was my middle school principal and my mom worked as a business manager for the Indian Shrine Association at the Pipestone National Monument.  My parents were married for almost 69 years. Growing up I was active in Tennis, Basketball, Track, Golf, Chorus and Band (trumpet). When I leave school, I go home to my four cats, and one dog.  I like hiking in the Smokies, kayaking,  photography of nature, and volunteering at our local Marion County Humane Society after school or on weekends.
