Mrs. Wellhoner

My name is Laura Wellhoner. I teach 6th grade Earth and Space Science as well as sponsor the OMS Academic Team. I live in Ocala with my husband, two younger kids, and what sometimes feels like a zoo of animals! My oldest son is a pilot, aerospace engineering student and an Air Force ROTC cadet at Embry Riddle University in Daytona. He loves science, too, and I think he's going to be an astronaut one day.

I am so very proud to be a part of the Osceola Middle School family. Your child will take a hands-on approach to science this year. My goal is to guide your child to see that science is both fun and relevant in everyday life. I am thrilled by Earth's beauty and systems and view our role as humans to be compassionate protectors of our planet and of eachother. My continued aim is to make our science classroom a vibrant place of learning where your child loves to be.

Over the course of my teaching career, I have taught US History, Reading, and Science. One of the many things I love about teaching middle school is how enthusiastic about learning your children are! They make every day different, joyful, and exciting- plus they keep me hopping!

I am so excited to be a part of your middle school adventure this year. I know that together we'll make it a great one.:)
