Homepage for Mrs. Root's math classes

  • Thank you for visiting my website; this is not linked to the Portal.  To be proactive with assignments, please first ask to look in your child's planner daily; I usually see each class 4 times per week.   In case their planner isn't clear, simply check this website each evening to stay current with homework.  One possible method of communication with parents is when I write in a student's agenda planner in RED ink, usually expecting a signature.  If you need to email me, the address is adina.root@marion.k12.fl.us .  If you would like more information about Osceola Middle School events, please click on OMS Homepage

Math presents challenges for which possible solutions are available on this site.

    On-line Textbook Resources:

can be found through the "MCPS Desktop (student) portal", then click on "etextbooks" at the bottom of the screen, then on the brown icon "Course Schedule".  Next, click on the blue link "etextbook" on the left side next to Mathematics. Finally, click on the link for 7th grade PearsonRealize.  What you will see is 3 circles; the one on the left side stating "Programs" in green will take you through standard lessons per Unit/topic (paper packet usually classwork).  Each on-line Unit letter has topic numbers within that match the softcover textbook's (Volume one and two) topic numbers located at the bottom of each page as a footer.

To find homework assigned on the computer, you'll want to instead click on the orange "classes" circle in the middle, and then review the list/date to decide what the current work is.  Official HW will be listed in this OMS website under "assignments".
