Life Science is the study of life and of living things, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution. Concepts are taught using an assortment of teaching strategies including the use of scientific inquiry, research, problem solving, and experimental procedures. In addition, this course will integrate Florida Standards for reading and writing emphasizing on close reading, answering text-specific questions, writing claims, and supporting claims with evidence.

Quarter 1: Nature of Science, Metric System, Microscopes, and Cells.
Quarter 2: Cells, and Human Anatomy.
Quarter 3: Heredity and Reproduction, Diversity, and Evolution of Organisms.
Quarter 4: Interdependence, Cycles of Matter and Energy.
