Mr. Paul R. Ouellette

Hello 6th and 7th Grade Parents and Students!

My story:  After playing drums for many years - working as a professional musician in pursuit of a career as a recording artist in an “almost famous” local rock band during the late eighties and early nineties, I switched gears and enrolled in college to pursue a career in social studies education.  I began my post-secondary coursework at Central Florida Community College (CFCC is now the College of Central Florida, or CF) earning an Associate of Arts degree in Education and History.  After graduating from CFCC, I transferred to the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!) earning a bachelor of science degree in Secondary Education Social Sciences 6 -12 and a bachelor of arts in History.  I am now in my fifteenth year of teaching for Marion County Public Schools.  I began my career as an educator at Fort King Middle School in August of 2001 where I taught 8th Grade Unites States History.  From 2002 – 2008, I taught 8th grade United States History at West Port Middle School, moving to a district administrative position at the end of that year.  From 2008-2014 I served as the Social Studies Program Specialist / Teaching American History Grant Project Director where I facilitated professional development for our district’s elementary and secondary U.S. History and American Government teachers.  The 2014-2015 school year brought me back to the classroom here at Osceola where I am excited to be teaching 7th grade Civics and 6th grade Advanced World History.
