Mrs. Kathryn M. Herold

My name is Kathryn Herold and I will be one of your teachers for the 2017-2018 school year. I am honored to have this opportunity and look forward to getting to know you and help you achieve your academic goals this year and increase your skills in technology.

To briefly introduce myself, I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1972 with a BS in Mathematics and Data Processing, with a minor in Education; George Washington University in 1978 with a MAEd in Supervision and Human Relations; and Nova Southeastern in 1983 with an EdS in Computer Education. I am currently certified in Florida to teach Computer Education K-12, Business Education 6-12,  Journalism, Mathematics 6-12, Exceptional Education K-12, and ESOL K-12.

I have been teaching with and about computers since 1972... yes, I know, many of your parents may not have even been born back then and YES, we did have computers back then. The screens were black and white, and we used cassette tape recorders to save our work, but ... we had 'em! Sadly, there was no Internet!!!

I  have been teaching over 45 years, having taught both high school and middle school, spent 12 years at Webster College (now Rasmussen College) where I was an instructor, Academic Dean, Executive Director, and corporate Director of Academic Affairs for 9 campuses, and also spent 10 years at Kingsbury Academy, a private institution in Marion County. I have also served as a part-time professor at Florida Southern College.

I have no children, but do have a husband and 2 cats ... I enjoy spending time with all 3 of them. I love all things "techie" and you will find out I am a real gadget freak!!
