Ms. Natalia Perry

My teaching career began in 2005 as an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher in Broward County, FL for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  Two years later, I moved to Marion County and continued teaching students with ASD at Oakcrest Elementary.  After 10 years of teaching at the elementary level, I decided it was time for a change.  In 2015 I was fortunate to join the Hillcrest School team and continue my teaching career with students with disabilities.

I have a 10-year-old son, who is currenlty in the 4th grade, and attends a Marion County Public School.  My son was recently diagnosed with Dyspraxia and we are learning to navigate life with a disability.  We are huge Harry Potter fans and are currently reading the illustrated books from the series.  When we are not reading the books, we are watching the movies or visiting Harry Potter World at Universal Orlando.

I started working with young children right out of high school.  It was through my preschool classroom that I found my passion for individuals with special needs.  I began working in the Marion County Public School System in 2015 where I worked with students with all different kinds of exceptionalities.  I began working at Hillcrest in 2017 and I absolutely love it.

I am currently a student at UCF majoring in Psychology to continue working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  When I am not working or studying, I enjoy traveling.  I have had the privilege to travel to 14 different countries so far and I look forward to adding more to the list.  When I am at home I enjoying reading, baking, and taking care of my plants.

In 1999, I started my career in the field of Exceptional Student Education, as a paraprofessional in a K-5th grade classroom in Jacksonville, Fl, which is my hometown.  In 2004, my family and I moved to Ocala, where I continued working as a paraprofessional at Oakcrest Elementary in a classroom for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  While at Oakcrest Elementary I was recognized for my hard work and dedication to my student by earning the Employee of the Year award. In 2014, I came to Hillcrest my new home and continue my work with individuals with ASD.

I have been married for 23 wonderful years and we have an amazing 21-year-old daughter.  My daughter and I are huge Harry Potter fans, unfortunately my husband is not so much, but he puts up with us.
