We have an exciting 2020-2021 school year ahead of us and it is going to be full of new experiences and wonderful art projects from Kindergarten all the way up to 5th grade!
I am dedicated to learn the program Microsoft Teams in order to serve my MCPS Online students, as well as all students here at Stanton-Weirsdale Elementary School in the event of an interruption of brick and mortar classes.
Please be patient as we learn together!
This year, I will be traveling to each classroom with my rolling "Art Taxi" so that students may "Catch a ride to creativity!". This is to eliminate unnecessary movement in our hallways for the health and well being of our school family. My bright yellow cart will contain school board approved sanitizing solution, as well as hand sanitizer. I will be wearing a mask, face shield and a personal microphone if needed to teach students this year. Students will NOT be allowed to share school supplies per CDC guidelines. Please have a lengthy conversation about organization and proper care of supplies.
In the event of an interruption of brick and mortar (school campus) learning, please be prepared and have the following art supplies purchased and available to your students at home. School supplies are on sale at the start of the school year and it is a good idea to stock up for school assignments and projects in all classes. Grades will be given for each assignment along with a deadline to complete art projects. A zero will be given if projects are not submitted. I know it can get expensive (I have 6 kids of my own) so grab art supplies while they are on sale!
