Mrs. Deborah Blinn

Welcome to the new school year!  My name is Deborah Blinn and I have been teaching for 28 years:  17 in Florida and 11 in New Hampshire. I have taught multiple class levels from second to eighth grade, with most of my experience in the third and fifth grades.  I love my profession and the wonderful students I have come to know and work with each year.  I am equally blessed to be working at South Ocala Elementary with the terrific, third-grade, fifth grade,  the gifted team, and outstanding administration and faculty.

Besides a degree in Elementary Education, I have an ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) endorsement, a gifted teaching endorsement, and a Reading Endorsement.

I have three grown children and two grown step children who live in Florida, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, and Arizona.   I have three grandchildren and am expecting two more this year. I try to see them as often as I can. I love hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail during the summers.  I enjoy painting landscapes and still lifes in oil.  I play classical music on the piano and love to read.  I've written a few short stories and plan to write intermediate grade fiction in the distant future.

“Family” means everything to me.  I believe in working together to support and strengthen our community, classroom, and school family.  With everyone’s help, this year should prove to be a remarkable year for all!  I am excited to start this new year with you!
